RILEY KAY
September 2020 - April 2021
ENGINEER 1P13
Learning Portfolio, McMaster University

A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Riley Kay has always had a drive and gleaming passion of creating new things to help others long-term. At the tender age of nine, she had taught herself how to use 3D modelling software, and eight years later, she decided to take that passion one step further and learn to use those skills, as well as her newfound additive manufacturing skills, to create physical objects to solve problems for those around her. Today, she is in her first year of engineering at McMaster University, where she will not only be further building on her mathematical and 3D design skills, but also be learning brand new concepts such as computing and materials science, through the development of four group projects to make her as skilled as she can be for future, real-world challenges. She hopes to get admitted into the school's Mechanical Engineering and Society program, and hopefully pursue a career in biomechanics or optics.
Also a huge thank you to Manon Gourieroux, Mohammad Mohsin Khan, Jared Paul, Dayyan Hashmi, Emily Ing, Jarrett Macey, Ahmed Abdelhalim, Rachid Khneisser, Nina Tran, Rosa Chen, Taiwo Rabiu, and Jack Tipper for working with me throughout the year through ENGINEER 1P13! It has definitely been a pleasure pursuing these projects with you guys, and I wish you all the best in the future!
